Our Story

Established over 50 years ago, Scotch Frost of Glasgow Ltd has become one of the longest established and leading suppliers to the UK’s food industry. From our head office in Scotland we have grown to provide national distribution across the UK & Northern Ireland as well as parts of Europe. 

With extensive knowledge and experience spanning many decades, we operate as part of a global supply chain.  We always work diligently offering unrivalled customer service, to ensure we remain our customers number 1 choice, in sourcing and delivering food & ingredients from around the world. 

Scotch Frost of Glasgow became part of the internationally renowned Zen Noh family, a national Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations in Japan and most recently entered into a partnership with Japan Food Express.  This has provided the business with additional opportunities to strengthen and grow  whilst also reinforcing a solid platform to allow us to maintain our values whilst working in tandem with our customers to provide solutions.

What we do

We are a trusted and dedicated logistics and food distribution partner, with depots throughout the UK. We specialise in local and National distribution of frozen, chilled and ambient food products across all sectors with over 50 years of experience in authentic ingredients for the specialist Oriental market.  

We are passionate & innovative in meeting customers needs; from independent restaurants/caterers & home delivery to multi-site, National chains as well as the UK’s most prominent Wholesale, Retail & Manufacturing clients. 

We source, import, store and distribute products from our 3 Regional UK Distribution Centres which can hold a total of 6,000 pallets with over 1,000 products available at all times. Our creative & flexible approach to customer relationships releases potential for clients to focus on their own goals. 


The Team

The Scotch Frost family consists of 120 permanent colleagues within a diverse range of cultures. We pride ourselves on inward investment & fostering an environment for opportunities to progress, through training & continual application. This gives us a blend of experience, dynamism & trust.

We offer services from search & find of specific brands or products to global NPD projects in all food products and all food sectors. Partners are chosen for the quality and reliability of their products but must be matched by the energy they put into operating ethically & sustainably whether locally produced or multi-container importation of seafood from the Far East.
